At age 13, he sunk his roots in the blues - Albert King, Howlin' Wolf, to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Quincy Mumford and the Reason Why

Quincy and his live band, The Reason Why, are excited to maintain their tireless performance schedule, which has found them sharing the stage with Ryan Montbleau Band, Rusted Root, moe., Donovan Frankenreiter, and Tedeschi Trucks Band, among many others. Dub Proof

Dub Proof

Dub Proof is a groove oriented band with it's home base in Asbury Park, NJ. Featuring Pat Clarke (drums), Nick "Turtle" Paolise (bass), Sean Milano (guitar and vocals), Paul Kates (keyboard), Kenny "Killah P" Peterson (percussion) and Dave Hollander (saxophone). Formed in 2007, the band has become known for it's hardworking attitude and freewheeling shows.

Basically, if you took the conscience of Bob Marley, the funk of George Clinton, the boom-bap of classic hip-hop, and the abstract delays and reverbs of 70's dub reggae you'd have the recipe for Dub Proof's songs. While occasionally venturing into more psychedelic and jazzy territory the band has always emphasized paring rhythms down to their essence rather than long individual solos or highly technical passages. Loose Fit

Loose Fit

The words that are spit from the mouth of Joey Henderson, the lead singer, sing more than just a song. They tell stories of carefree vagabonds roaming in search of their next good time, or a lone surfer wading out at sea knowing that if not even a single wave shall break, he is still one with the ocean. The stage presence of LooseFit almost makes one sad for they know they may never even come close to having as good a time as the four guys on stage currently are having. Each member of LooseFit brings their own mastery of blues, funk, jazz, and reggae into a culmination of mind blowing rhythm, promoting the rigid to dance and the deaf to suddenly rock out. Oh, and you have a thing for guitar? Lead guitarist Pat Oaks commonly indulges in sensuous, dynamic solos that will summon the rock gods that dwell in us all out of our bodies; undergoing extreme convulsions as if an exorcism is currently being performed. Mike Montrey Band

Mike Montrey Band

Toying with the rich possibilities of a dual-sax sound infused with keys and sturdy emotion, Mike Montrey Band can slide from buoyancy to lament in the space of a few seconds. The sound of Mike Montrey Band (The MMB) has a rugged outline -- awareness of life’s tremors pepper the lyrics, sung with a tenor that both trembles and soars, seemingly made for this kind of poetry. Yet it’s the high-spirited melodies and flowing, exploratory warmth of the musicianship that keep this six-piece from settling anywhere near easy classification; “indie acoustic singer-songwriter,” “sultry, jazzy zouk” or “roots” could aptly be applied at any given performance. Relix Magazine has caught on, as has Jambands.com and the prestigious Asbury Music Awards. More Info...

This four-piece string band combines traditional bluegrass, celtic and ragtime genres to form a unique original sound. With their own songwriting, this quartet sets them selves apart from the norm. The sky is the limit for these four dapper gents! "These Smoky Mountain players may live right here on the shore, but their spirit is pure Kentucky. Ryder is a man who has literally hit the highway for his inspirations, hitching rides and hopping freight trains on his quest for vivid songwriting information." - Shoreworld, Aquarian, John Pfeiffer More Info...

After Glow

After Glow

Afterglow, a local acoustic band, is a lot like baklava, the syrupy pastry. When you see baklava in a restaurant's dessert case, don't you think to yourself, " Oh, I won't have room for that - too heavy and rich". And when you break down and order it anyway, aren't you surprised how lacey and delicate the layers are? But, it's also really tough to cut with a knife, and it gets messy with the syrup and the chopped nuts. OK, now that you are hungry, go get a snack and we'll talk more about Afterglow. Afterglow is a rare band. They're soft when you expect them to be heavy; tough when expect them to be mellow. With six musicians and it seems an endless parade of percussive instruments on stage, you'd think there'd be pretentious artsiness galore, or, at least a lot of noise. But, no. Afterglow makes music that is layered, but not heavy. Kind of like baklava... More Info...
